Massage Therapy

Swedish (Classic massage)

Swedish massage uses five styles of strokes and is helpful in reducing pain and joint stiffness. A deeply relaxing experience.

Aromatherapy uses fragrant oils extracted from herbs, flowers and fruits to naturally enhance the benefits of massage on the mind and body.

Deep tissue massage

Deep tissue massage therapy is similar to Swedish massage, but the deeper pressure is beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension. The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints).

Neuromuscular (NMT)

Neuromuscular therapy (NMT) is an approach to soft tissue manual therapy in which quasi-static pressure is applied to soft tissue to stimulate skeletal striated muscle. Often these areas of muscle are myofascial trigger points. Practitioners balance the central nervous system (brain, spinal column and nerves) with the structure and form of the musculoskeletal system.

Neuromuscular therapy consists of alternating levels of concentrated pressure on the areas of muscle spasm. The pressure is usually applied with the fingers, knuckles, or elbow

Similar in principle to acupuncture. It is based on the concept of life energy which flows through “meridians” in the body. In treatment, physical pressure is applied to acupuncture points with the aim of clearing blockages in these meridians. Pressure may be applied by hand or by elbow.

Balinese massage is an approach to massage developed in the Indonesian province of Bali, with influence from the traditional medicine systems of India, China, and Southeast Asia.

Balinese massage a wide range of techniques include acupressure, skin rolling and flicking, firm and gentle stretching, percussion, and application of essential oils. The combination of manual therapy and aromatherapy is intended not only to relax the patient and loosen fascia restrictions, but to stimulate the lymphatic system and the flow of blood and chi. Stretching rhythm

Hot stone

Heated stones (usually basalt lava) are placed onto specific points on the body (such as the back, palms, etc.) and others are used to massage the muscles.

This 21st Century fusion of massage, heat, energy balancing and aromatherapy combine to create a profound healing experience.

Indian head massage

Champissage (its original name)  is derived from Ayurveda (which translates to ‘the wisdom of life’ or ‘the art of living’). Head, neck and face are massaged using a variety of stimulating and relaxing techniques, applying specific pressure to marma points (mini wheels of energy or chakra gateways),  blockages are released allowing energy to flow freely giving an overall feeling of well being and preventing further dis-ease.

Ideal for treatment of headaches, migraine, eye strain, stiff neck and shoulders, over-busy mind, insomnia and stress. Traditional Indian oil is used.

A natural healing art based on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet, hands and ears and their referral areas within zone related areas, which correspond to every part, gland and organ of the body. Through application of pressure on these reflexes, reflexology relieves tension, improves circulation and helps promote the natural function of the related areas of the body.

Natural Beauty

After a skin analysis and sensory test the best products to most benefit your individual needs will be chosen. This treatment begins with a deep cleanse and gentle exfoliation (using spherical fossilised earth so as not to scratch even the most sensitive of skin). Tone; using a skin specific hydrolat (water that remains after steam extraction / distillation of essential oils). Aromatherapy, pressure point and lymphatic drainage massage for face, neck, décolleté and shoulders. A skin specific mask will be applied; meanwhile a scalp or foot massage is given. Mask removal with hot towels. Finishing products.

Like a facial for the back; this treatment starts with a back cleanse and exfoliation, followed by a mineral rich mud mask. While the mask is working its magic a scalp or foot massage is given. This is followed by mask removal with hot towels and an aromatherapy massage tailored to your needs.

Waxing is a form of semi-permanent hair removal which removes the hair from the root. New hair will not grow back in the previously waxed area for four to six weeks. Strip waxing (soft wax) is accomplished by spreading a wax thinly over the skin. A paper strip is applied and pressed firmly, adhering the strip to the wax and the wax to the skin. Natural bees wax and before and after care products are used, suitable for sensitive skin types.

Pre and Post Natal massage.

Suitable after the first trimester (12 weeks). A deeply relaxing and cherishing massage using advanced massage techniques in safe areas to slowly relax and de-stress the body, taking in to account all contra-indications and the avoidance of many essential oils. Using nourishing oil of Calendula, this helps to improve the tonicity and smoothness of the skin, infused in Sweet Almond oil with Jojoba and Wheat germ (high in vitamin E). This blend is soothing and calming for stretched and delicate skin.

Infant and Pediatric massage.

This therapy has been practiced globally, and has been increasingly used in Western countries as a treatment for infants.

Paediatric massage is the complementary and alternative treatment that uses massage therapy, or “the manual manipulation of soft tissue intended to promote health and well-being” for children and adolescents. Its goal is to help reduce pain, anxiety, loneliness and fear. Paediatric massage therapy takes into consideration each child’s individual physical and cognitive development, providing nurturing comfort.
